Quick Answers

Ordering & Payment
How do I order a card?
Pick a card you like, click on it, and you'll see options to personalize it with your own message. Choose your font, size, and color, then add it to your basket. You can check out as a guest or create an account if you want to track your orders.
Do I need an account to order?
Nope. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account just makes it easier to track orders and speeds up future checkouts.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
Can I order multiple cards at once?
Absolutely. Add as many cards as you like to your basket. Each card can have its own personalized message. They'll all ship together to the same address (or you can use Send Direct to send them to different people).
How do I apply a discount code?
Enter your code at checkout in the "Discount code" box before completing payment. Only one code can be used per order.
Personalization
How does personalization work?
When you select a card, you'll see a preview of the inside where your message will appear. Type your message, pick a font, choose a size (small, medium, or large), and select a text color. The preview updates in real-time so you can see exactly how it'll look.
What's the character limit for messages?
You can write up to 600 characters. That's roughly 100-120 words, which is plenty for most messages. The counter shows you how many characters you've used.
What fonts and colors are available?
We offer 12 fonts ranging from elegant scripts to modern sans-serifs, including Playfair Display, Dancing Script, Caveat, and more. You can choose from 6 text colors: black, navy, burgundy, forest green, brown, and grey.
How do the AI message suggestions work?
Stuck for words? Click "Help me write" and tell us who the card is for and what the occasion is. Our AI will generate 3 message ideas for you. You can use one as-is, edit it to make it your own, or ignore them entirely and write something yourself. The final message is always your choice.
The AI is just a helpful starting point - it doesn't know your recipient like you do, so feel free to tweak the suggestions.
Can I leave the card blank inside?
Yes! If you'd rather write your own message by hand, just select "Leave blank" and we'll print the card without any inside text. Perfect if you want to add a handwritten note.
Can I see a preview before ordering?
Yes. The personalization screen shows a live preview of your message inside the card, including your chosen font, size, and color. What you see is what you'll get (though screen colors may vary slightly from print - see our note on color accuracy below).
Delivery
How long does delivery take?
Each card is printed to order, so there's 1-2 days production time before shipping. After that:

These are estimates. Busy periods, customs, or postal delays can sometimes extend delivery times.
Is tracking available?
Standard UK shipping is typically untracked (sent via Royal Mail). For international orders, tracking availability varies by destination. We'll email you when your order ships with any tracking info available.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Delivery times and costs vary by destination. Note that international orders may be subject to customs duties or taxes in your country - these are your responsibility.
What if my card doesn't arrive?
If your card hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, email us at hello@cutecards.co.uk. We'll look into it and either resend your card or give you a full refund - your choice.
Send Direct Service
What is "Send Direct"?
Send Direct lets us post your card straight to the recipient. Just enter their address and we'll print it on the envelope and mail it directly to them. No need for you to handle posting - we take care of everything.
How do you print the address?
We print the recipient's name and address directly on the envelope in a clean, readable font. It looks professional but still personal.
Will the recipient know who sent it?
Only if you tell them in your message! We don't print your name or return address on the envelope by default. If you want them to know who it's from, include your name in the card message.
Can I send to P.O. boxes?
Generally yes, though some courier services can't deliver to P.O. boxes. Standard postal delivery to P.O. boxes usually works fine.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return a personalized card?
Because each card is printed with your unique message, we can't accept returns for change of mind. This is standard for personalized products under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations - bespoke items made to your specifications are exempt from the usual return rules.
That said, if there's a problem with your card (printing error, damage, wrong card), we'll absolutely make it right.
What if my card arrives damaged or defective?
We're sorry if that happens - it's rare but not impossible. Email us at hello@cutecards.co.uk with a photo of the issue within 14 days of receiving it. We'll either:
- Reprint and resend your card for free, or
- Give you a full refund
Your choice. No hassle.
Can I cancel my order?
If you've made a mistake or changed your mind, contact us as soon as possible. If your card hasn't gone into production yet (usually within about an hour of ordering), we can cancel and refund you. Once it's being printed, we can't stop it.
How long do refunds take?
We process refunds within 14 days of approval. The money goes back to your original payment method. Your bank may take a few extra days to show it in your account.
Print Quality
What card stock do you use?
All our cards are printed on premium 280gsm gloss card stock. It's sturdy enough to stand up on a mantelpiece without flopping over, and the gloss finish makes the colors pop. Every card comes with a matching white envelope.
Who prints the cards?
We partner with Prodigi, a professional UK-based print-on-demand company. They handle production and shipping so we can focus on creating great designs. They're used by thousands of brands and have excellent quality standards.
Will the colors match my screen exactly?
Colors on screen and in print can look slightly different. Screens use RGB light while printers use CMYK inks, so some variation is normal. We do our best to ensure accurate color reproduction, but factors like your monitor settings and lighting can affect how you perceive colors on screen.
Minor color differences aren't considered defects, but if something looks drastically wrong, let us know.
What size are the cards?
Our cards are 6x4 inches (152x102mm) when folded - a nice, classic size that fits standard envelopes and looks great on any shelf or mantelpiece.
Privacy & Data
Is my data safe?
Yes. We use Shopify's secure platform for all transactions, which is PCI-DSS compliant (the payment industry's highest security standard). We never store your full card details - that's handled by our payment processor.
Do you sell my information?
No. Your personal information stays with us and our essential service providers (like our print partner). We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
What happens to my personalized message?
Your message is saved locally in your browser while you're working on it (so you don't lose it if you accidentally close the tab). Once you place your order, it's sent to our print partner to produce your card. We keep order records for 7 years as required by UK tax law, but we don't use your messages for anything other than printing your card.
How do I request my data or delete my account?
