Our story

Hello, I'm Josh

I run this little card shop.

I started this because most cards were boring. Now I make ones that are not.

It started, like most bad ideas, in the supermarket card aisle at 9.30pm the night before someone's birthday.

Row after row of the same stuff: beige flowers, dad jokes from 1998, "To a very special friend" in curly gold font. Nothing that sounded like anything my mates would actually say.

So I went home, messed about with my own designs, got a few printed, and people started asking where I'd bought them.

I hadn't. So I decided to.

That's me, Josh.

Just me (hi), plus a small crew of people who help keep the wheels turning.

The problem

The card aisle is broken

Too safe

Generic, polite, could be for literally anyone.

or

Too naff

Jokes that feel like they were written by someone who's never met a real person.

Real life is messier and funnier than that.

  • πŸ“± Your mate who sends you unhinged voice notes.
  • ⏰ Your sister who's permanently five minutes late.
  • πŸ’• Your partner who hates big soppy speeches but loves stupid in-jokes.

I wanted cards that felt like those people.

Our approach

Cards you don't see on the high street

Every design starts with a simple question:

"Would I actually send this to someone I care about?"

We lean into:

  • Bold, colourful designs
  • Proper modern humour
  • Specific, weird little details
  • The odd gentle roast (for the people you love enough to mock)

You will find cards for:

  • πŸ›‹οΈ The mate who always says "I'm on my way" from their sofa
  • πŸŽ‚ The dad who "doesn't want a fuss" but obviously does
  • 🏠 The friend who's basically part of the furniture now

If it feels like something you'd spot in a cool indie shop rather than the corner of a petrol station, we're doing it right.

Made properly

Designed here, printed here

  • πŸ“¦
No dusty warehouse full of unsold cards
  • ♻️
Less waste we only print what you actually want
  • ✨
Your card feels fresh not like it's been hanging around since last Father's Day

We use proper, sturdy card stock - the kind that stands up nicely on a mantelpiece and doesn't flop over in shame - and quality print so colours pop.

Then it's packed up with care and sent on its way, straight to you or the person you're trying to impress / apologise to / wind up.

The team

Who's behind all this?

Just me (hi), plus a small crew of people who help keep the wheels turning.

I'm the one:

  • Fiddling with layouts and colours
  • Writing the silly bits of text
  • Approving new designs
  • Annoying the printer with "one more tweak"

I'm not a giant company. There's no boardroom. Just a person who really, genuinely cares that the card you send makes someone smile, snort, or cry in a good way.

When you order, you're not feeding a big machine. You're helping a small, independent UK brand grow - and you're giving the big generic card racks a run for their money.

Our principles

What we care about

A few things we try to bake into everything:

Thoughtful > generic

Even the daftest card should feel like it's for that person, not "any recipient".

Quality you can feel

Thick card, sharp print, envelopes that don't feel cheap.

Less landfill

Printing to order means we're not chucking boxes of unsold stock away every season.

Keeping it simple

Choose a design, add your message, we'll get it in the post. No faff.

What's next

Where we're heading

This is just the start.

We're constantly adding new designs, testing them on real people (friends, family, unlucky volunteers), and quietly retiring anything that doesn't make people grin.
